Welcome Back Fishing Report!

Welcome to the 2013 Fishing Season!

After a long cold, snowy, windy winter~spring is only two weeks away. The water temperature has been in upper 30's to low 40's which will make for a great spring and summer season. So here is what's happening in the fishing news...

First season to open is the striped bass season in the Hudson River north of the George Washington Bridge. That season opens March 16, 2013 and includes the areas around Croton, Tarrytown, The Tappan Zee Bridge, Piermont, Buchanan, Haverstraw and all along the shore lines of the Hudson River.

Whether you are fishing by boat or from the shore~Jack's Jumbo Bloodworms will do the trick. Other baits such as Jack's Fresh Herring,Jack's Fresh Bunker and Jack's live eels will also work well.

The next season to open after the Hudson River striped bass will be the New York flounder on April 1st and then the New York striped bass season opens on April 15th.

This looks to be an excellent fishing year so make sure to come down and get your new line on your reels and have your rods and reels serviced because you must remember that there is only one thing between you and that 50 pound striped bass~it's your line. Jack's will have all of these baits and extended hours starting Saturday March 9th.

Make sure to stop in and pick up your 2013 tide charts and size and limit sheets.

Jack's full fleet of motor boat rentals are ready to hit the high seas for the 2013 flounder season starting April 1st.
